Donna Decker - Poet of "The Man in the Mangroves"
The Inspiration
Living in Key West, Florida, Donna met a "pirate" who offered to be her guide to a homeless encampment. This encounter inspired her poem, "The Man in the Mangroves Counts to Sleep." In this video, Donna shares her experience and the events that led to the poem's creation:
The Collaboration
Stopping by a Florida Panhandle blues bar led Donna to a fortuitous meeting with mulit-instrument musician Andy Moorer. Donna recounts their meeting which led to a long-term creative collaboration in this video:
